Lisa Scheff Designs is seeking a diligent and organized individual to join our team as a Warehouse Manager. Lisa Scheff Designs is a full-service interior design firm based out of Longmeadow, MA serving Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. The warehouse manager will work closely with our procurement team to ensure that the team’s vision becomes a reality. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, assembly, quality control, order fulfillment, delivery, and customer interaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
This position will be in our warehouse located in Enfield, CT and is Monday-Friday 8 am-4pm.
Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment as well as all interior design deliveries.
Receiving and Inspection:
Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of orders. Includes opening furnishings and building materials, carefully checking for damage, documenting damage and promptly reporting any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel.
Storage and Organization:
Safely and efficiently store products in designated warehouse areas.
Ensure proper labeling and inventory management practices are followed.
Optimize warehouse space utilization to maximize storage capacity.
Assembly and Preparation:
Prepare necessary components for delivery or installation according to project specifications and requirements. This includes pre-assembly of furniture ahead of delivery day to ensure all necessary hardware and accessories are included and that you know how to efficiently assemble items on delivery day.
Quality Control:
Perform quality control checks on products to identify defects or imperfections.
Take corrective actions as needed to maintain product quality and integrity.
Delivery Preparation:
Prepare products for delivery by carefully loading them onto delivery vehicles.
Ensure products are properly secured and protected from damage during transit.
Verify the accuracy of delivery orders and review delivery instructions before departure.
Delivery:
Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport products to customers' locations according to scheduled delivery routes.
Navigate routes efficiently using GPS or other navigation tools to ensure on-time delivery.
Provide friendly and professional customer service during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns customers may have.
Problem solve on site when issues arise or ask the operations team for help to determine the best options.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate delivery records, including delivery manifests, proof of delivery receipts, and customer signatures.
Report any delivery issues, discrepancies, or damages for resolution.
Handyman Services:
Small installations and repairs as needed. Assisting carpenter on the job site as required per job. Training for Hunter Douglas installations to be provided by Lisa Scheff Designs
Vehicle Maintenance:
Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on delivery vehicles.
Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs for prompt repairs.
Communication:
Liaise with Lisa Scheff Designs team members throughout the workday as needed, excellent communication and problem-solving skills required. Represent Lisa Scheff Designs in a respectable and professional manner with all delivery personnel and clients.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in warehouse management and delivery operations.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to safely and efficiently move heavy merchandise (furniture and building materials) and to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hrs.
Full-Time position with benefits
Starting salary range is $40,000+ commensurate with experience.
