A Home Designed Around How You Live
Beautiful design begins with function.
In our recent Easthampton project, Playful Pursuits, the goal wasn't to create a formal space that looked beautiful but rarely got used. This lower level was designed specifically for creativity, connection, hobbies, and family time.
A versatile game table accommodates pool, ping pong, puzzles, and game nights, while an adjoining music and hobby room creates space to play and create. Color and pattern give the rooms an energetic personality that feels completely at home in this particular house.
The result isn't simply a beautiful room. It's a space that encourages the family to actually use it.
Timeless Doesn't Have to Mean Predictable
In Southampton, the priorities—and the resulting design—were entirely different.
The kitchen combines classic white cabinetry with warm natural wood, custom millwork and richly toned herringbone floors. Rather than stopping at the kitchen, the design continues into the pantry, laundry room and powder room so the connected spaces feel intentional and cohesive.
The palette is quieter than our Easthampton project, but it has just as much personality. Warm materials, architectural details and carefully considered finishes keep the neutral space from feeling generic.
Personality Can Live in the Details
Our newest kitchen project takes another approach entirely.
Deep green cabinetry grounds the space while warm wood, patterned textiles and layered finishes keep it inviting. Instead of relying on one dramatic design moment, personality comes through in the combination of materials and details throughout the room.
This is where professional design can make an enormous difference. Individual selections don't have to match. They need to work together.

One client may love color and pattern. Another may want calm, warm neutrals. Someone else may be drawn to traditional architecture but want their home to feel fresh and current.
Our job isn't to make every Lisa Scheff Designs project look the same.
It's to understand what feels right for you and then translate that into a home where the architecture, layout, cabinetry, lighting, finishes, furnishings and smaller details tell the same story.
